Project Details

The development comprised:

• Construction of 144 bed residential aged care facility
• Structure was 2 storeys with an overall building footprint of over 7000m²
• External carparking and access roads for servicing vehicles

Challenge Faced / Engineering Problem Solved:

• Detailed assessment of ground floor foundations accounting for expected differential settlements and concrete shrinkage over the large plans area of the building
• Assessment of suspended concrete structural solutions to ensure cost effectiveness and constructability
• Utilisation of lightweight roof framing systems to limit building mass and isolated point loads on suspended structural elements
