Project Details

• MPC were engaged by Theiss Pty Ltd to review and provided design requirements for transport, lifting and rotation of several conveyor gantries up to 57m long x 200 Tonne.
• Lifting design requirements were also required for managing a 260 Tonne buffer bin for coal handling on the Kooragang project

Challenge Faced / Engineering Problem Solved:

• Lifting process/methodology had strict time constraints due to road closures limitations which therefore required large single lifts to be designed
• MPC were required to review and verify the capacity of critical structural components using Finite Element Analysis software Strand7
• MPC also designed the lifting lugs needed to support the conveyor gantries and buffer bin with the cranes
