The development comprised:

• A new grandstand pavilion comprising office space, function rooms, dressing rooms and catering facilities
• Outdoor tiered seating and concourse walkways
• Long-span cantilevered roof structure from pavilion over the tiered seating

• Mine Subsidence Design Parameters
• Flood water pressure design on structure
• High lateral wind forces due to large outdoor cantilever roof
• High corrosivity due to coastal exposure

Construction systems used included:

• Building supported on driven timber piles
• Precast and pre-stressed concrete seating planks
• In-situ concrete concourse slabs and beams
• In-situ concrete raft slabs at ground floor, supported on timber piles
• Structural steel framed roof and awnings
