MPC carried out the design and documentation for this new bowling club valued at approximately $5m. This development was commissioned to replace an existing club that had undergone major flood damage. Urunga Bowling Club contracted MPC to assist EJE Architecture with design and construction of all structural and civil engineering elements. The new building was designed primarily as a full structural steel frame, with a small alterations and additions portion of the existing club sports bar to remain. This project is in a designated flood storage zone within Urunga, which required MPC to undertake flood storage assessments and to provide a design that satisfied Bellingen Shire Councils strict detention and water quality modeling requirements. MPC utilized existing rainwater storage tanks for collection of roof rainwater for re-use within the club amenities and for irrigation of the bowling greens. MPC also subsequently designed and documented the new bowling green as well as upgrade works required to an existing laneway which services exiting vehicles from the new club’s loading dock and service area.
