Northbank Redevelopment Melbourne

MPC Consulting Engineers Post Tension Division was contracted to design and document two towers located in the heart of Melbourne CBD on the Yarra River (opposite Crown Casino). The development consisted of 10 and 15 storey buildings with a third tower proposed for the site. The buildings comprised lower level carparking and commercial tenancies with residential apartments and studio above. MPC was contracted by Ward Strongforce Pty Ltd to carry out design and documentations for all suspended slabs and beams for the entire project. MPC worked in conjunction with the project managers and engineers to ensure that the detailed design satisfied the criteria set for the project. The development was constructed by L.U. Simon Builders. In conjunction with Ward Strongforce MPC discussed with the builder specific areas that required a coordinated approach to ensure smooth transition of services and methods of detailing to limit disruptions on site. MPC typically were required to ensure that the design (as construction phase works), was ahead of program to ensure that adequate time is provided for the Registered Practitioner approval and that reinforcement scheduling and fabrication will be maintained during the course of the project.
