The development comprised:

• Alterations and additions to the existing airport including new amenities, airport departures and commercial tenancies
• Additions including airport arrivals, baggage and international services

Challenge Faced / Engineering Problem Solved:

• Speed of construction critical to enable airport operations to be maintained with limited disruption
• High wind and noise environment requiring consultant workshops to facilitate adequate construction solutions
• Complete structure was designed to allow for future expansion including increased loads on foundations and suspended floors
• Client required ground floor solution to enable full access to services. Ultrafloor ground floor system incorporated

• Suspended concrete upper level slab and beam design using post tension systems
