Batemans Bay Soldiers Club
This development involved alterations and additions to a portion of the existing club. Considerable structural modifications were required including removal of existing ground floor columns and first floor steel support beams to allow for carpark conversion and head height requirements. The chosen structural solution incorporated the stiffening of the existing concrete floor by using a combination of upturn concrete beams and high tensile hanging bolts. Significant changes were required to the upper level, including removal and replacement of the existing column grid whilst maintaining the existing roof structure for conversion to an auditorium. Deep structural steel trusses were used in conjunction with existing members to form the new roof profile.
